Lincolnshire is often known as the 'forgotten county' and it is true
that the majority of visitors to the UK start their visit in London and
then travel up to York and on to Edinburgh by-passing Lincolnshire. Some
may visit Lincoln where we have without doubt the finest cathedral
church, not only in this country, but the whole world! A gallery will be
found by clicking here. We also have
many other fine churches of all denominations and I have included a
gallery of some of these which can be found here.
There are many other fine buildings which are worth visiting and I have

David Vale produced drawings to illustrate
many of my books and I included these in my Appreciation of him which
can be viewed
here.
I am sure many of you will be surprised to learn of the large number of
well-known people who were born in Lincolnshire. There are many others
who live in the county and have come to appreciate its peace and
tranquillity. Others have been influenced by incidents which took place
on visits to the county or perhaps whilst serving in the Armed Forces
and especially the Royal Air Force. I have provided a gallery of
pictures of the great and the good, the famous and
infamous.
I have also included a Miscellany page of
items mainly taken from the first two books in my series 'A
Lincolnshire Hotchpotch' which are out of print. There are
snippets of Yellow Belly Humour, Ghost Stories, Witches, Remedies,
Epitaphs and other items about Lincolnshire.
There is also a section intended for Bell Ringers
which includes my bell ringing autobiography, with links to
pages of Compositions and a library of
