FEEDING

MID JUNE
Feeding should now commence with a balanced fertilizer. There are so many proprietry feeds on the market so it really is a matter of personal choice. Feeding should be done weekly at this stage.

MID JULY
Now the feed should change to a high potash one as the fruit start setting. Feeding should be done twice weekly and ensure that watering is not neglected. During a hot spell, watering must be done every day.
Continue feeding until mid September if the fruit is still green and swelling. Feeding can stop when the fruit stop swelling and the last harvest is nearing. This can be judged by the lack of flowers and mass reddening of fruit.
