Until I started researching my family tree the only Anglisses I knew were my relatives. Through my interest in family history I've discovered many more relatives and many others who share my name and who may be related to me. I have also discovered many interesting stories about our ancestors - from businesspeople and musicians to inventors and adulterers. Thanks to everyone who has helped me to put this site together. |

| Research background Family history became a real interest for me, as for many others, when the 1901 Census came online. Since then my interest has developed and I’ve seen there’s much more to family history. I make my living as a researcher but in business not family history. I’ve found, however, that many of the skills I use in my job are very useful to a family historian not least knowing how and when to ask for advice and learning from the best practice of others. This site does not represent a comprehensive one-name study and I cannot guarantee that all details are correct - any suggestions or amendments are welcome. |

All families, no matter how insignificant, are affected by our common history. Family history can be more than just a list of names and dates but really tell us something about our ancestors, placing them in an historical and social context. My main hope is that this site will help to bring all those together who are interested in the name Angliss and the histories of those who have been part of the Angliss family. I would like to thank the following people without whom this website would not have been possible: Gerald
Allen Sara
