Coventry connection

The history of the Angliss family is intimately bound with the history of the City of Coventry.
We know that there were Anglisses living in Coventry from at least the late 18th century and possibly before.

During the 19th century they adapted to the changing environment and economy of Coventry. They spread out of the city centre into areas such as Foleshill and were employed in silk weaving, watchmaking and the bicycle trade moving away from their traditional work as fellmongers.
