State of Play when the Causton One-Name Study Closed

Although the study was world wide and covered all time periods development was uneven. This is discussed area by area. Most of the work completed is in England and the majority of that in Essex and Suffolk. In each area listed below, where family trees exist, a table is shown identifying the head of each tree and using the ID numbers to be found in the searchable database hosted on Rootsweb Worldconnect. In the first column are listed the researchers who have either carried out the research or shown an interest in that tree. A blank here just means that I have pieced together the tree.

The list of researchers are here but as this is not being maintained it will gradually go out of date. If not on the list they might be found via genesconnect. Two further lists which may be of use are the parish records searched and books and other sources consulted. Neither is complete.

New Zealand - no work done

Scotland - some immigration from southern England to find work is suspected but no family history work had been done.

South Africa - Cyril Powys Cawston (889) and Ronald Howard Bilborough Causton (956) arrived, probably in the 1920s. Also two Cason trees from the Kings Lynn area of Norfolk and Langham in Essex (see Mark Barker in Norfolk section above).
