Revived in 1968 by the Kilbarchan Primary School Parents Association. Lilias day had been
previously celebrated in 1931, 1933 and 1934.
This pageant culminates in a fete in the local park with various charities, stalls and entertainment etc..etc..
Once the days festivities are over Habbie Simpson again pipes his way back to his place of residence,
a torchlight procession follows to wave him goodnight as he climbs the stairs of Kilbarchan Steeple for another year.

There are no other records of
other Lilias Days prior to that in the twentieth century
The local people dress up in various costumes spanning from St Barchan; the druids; horse drawn
carriages;
villagers from different ages to Habbie Simpson himself piping his way through his village.
I intend to fill this page out with various photographs of the years gone by. Hopefully a few people will
recognise themselves participating in the events.
I browsed and managed to come up with a few "interesting" videos about Kilbarchan on
youtube and mostly from a person called "BLUELASERLITE";
whoever you are thanks for the memories! ,
To have a wee look click on the links below, do you remember something or someone in them?
