ohn Barker

Vocals, guitars, keyboards, dobro, harmonica

Began his musical career as vocalist and guitarist in Jericho, an Oxford-based band which played the college circuit in the ’70s, supporting bands such as Hawkwind, Family, Curved Air, Sandy Denny's Fotheringay, Atomic Rooster and Manfred Mann’s Earth Band.

Switching to organ for the musical play Necropolis, he assembled a band which later mutated into Global Village Trucking Company, England’s answer to the Grateful Dead. After a brief period playing music inspired by minimalist composer Terry Riley with Orlando Gough, he moved to the south coast, before a hand injury cut put his musical career on hold. In the 1990s he played organ with soul-jazz outfit Blue Juice, before picking up his guitar again and forming JAEwalkers in 2006.

John Barker also composes and produces music for video soundtracks - link
