L-R , unknown, Eileen Eycott, Francis Synon, Kit Taylor
Front Lillian (Pip) Boon

Occupation - Engineering officer in the Royal Air Force
(Family legend has it that Sydney Martin  was billeted with John Hume Ross (Lawrence of Arabia) at RAF Manston at the time Ross was killed in a motorcycle accident.  This is historically incorrect. T.E. Lawrence joined the RAF as John Hume Ross in 1922, and joined a second time in 1925 as T.E. Shaw, both times as an aircraftsman not an officer. He died in 1935 soon after leaving the RAF.)

From the notes of Alfred John Boon:.

When Sid was stationed at Yeovilton in 1942 he, Nell and Ian (and maybe Barry) lived with us for a time at Yeovil.
