Andrew
Strutt has sent me a copy of the entries in the Strutt
family bible. The father of the early entries, William
Gollop, is believed to have been a Jewish Rabbi who fell
in love with a Gentile and converted to Christianity. The
bible is thought to have been his. The information was
entered in the bible by Emily Blanche Strutt on 12 July
1895. See also the Gollop Family for details.
Some of the names and dates do not coincide with the
evidence I have, which is probably understandable given
the time lapse between the events and the date of entry by
a child. I have entered this information as it stands,
with a cautionary note where necessary.
