| From
the notes of Alfred John Boon:
Robert
joined the RAF as an apprentice, clerical side. When he was stationed at
Uxbridge he stayed with us at Elm St most weekends. Where did we pack
them in? This must have been 1927-30. When I was in charge of a workshop
in Egypt in 1950-53 we did trade tests for other R.E.M.E. units in the
Canal Zone. I marked the mechanical parts. A craftsman came into my
office to hand in his work. I noticed the name on the piece was Synan.
He was my cousin Bob’s son.
He would come and stay with us in Fayid every weekend he was off
duty. I think his home was in Gloucester. |
