My initial aims for my final marjor project were to look at ways in which to recreate surfaces from my drawing and photographs. I did arrange of experimental samples and then looking at a selection I felt I could take further. I carried on working with these samples using different arrangements of layers and techniques with different pastes and pigments. I then finalized some samples that I think would work well as my larger final pieces.
These final pieces would vary in size very slightly depending on the fabric I do not want them to be identical as surfaces are not all the same size so I wanted some differences between my pieces.I have narrowed down my selection of fabrics as I was working on a large amount of different fabrics. I went for some different weights which gives a good overall balance to all the pieces.
My final samples come in 3 groups one representing the more wall and metal surface, then the second the wood and natural surfaces and then a piece which combines the both groups.
These final fabric samples could be used for fashion accessories or more of the artistic one-off pieces. As they are worked into a lot to get the same effect exactly the same would be hard.
