Royal Navy There are far too many Navy Web Sites for me to list here, but these are a few of my favourites.
Memories Are Made Of This
HMS CAVALIER: History, Crew Lists. Commissions, Reunions, Preservation Updates and numerous photographs. It’s all here, and brings both a lump to the throat and a tear to the eye.
HMS GANGES: If you are suffering from Faith, Hope and Charity withdrawal symptoms, or you mourn the loss of the Long Covered Way, then this is the site for you. Numerous photographs covering most of it’s history courtesy of Mr Fisk.
MINESWEEPERS: This is the site for all ex ‘Ton ‘ class crew members and enthusiasts. Bring your own bucket.
SUEZ: A great Web site built on the written contributions and photographs from the people who were there. All three Services are represented, and the site is still growing.
HMS GANGES ASS’N: History, Reunions, and Numerous photographs. A nostalgic trip down memory lane for all ex Ganges inmates.
WITH THANKS My thanks and appreciation to all of the above Web sites, who have been both a source of inspiration and information in crafting this site, and I am indebted to all of you. I eventually intend to email my own Navy photographs to the appropriate Webmasters.
HMS GANGES: As experienced by Les Burrill who, unbeknown to me, was a Ganges resident at roughly the same time as myself.
RN COMMUNICATIONS ASS’N: Almost a complete History of naval communications, A good place to chat with old fellow Bunting Tossers and Sparkers, and not necessarily in semaphore or Morse.
RUM RATION: The quote Unofficial Web Site Of The Royal Navy unquote. Caution; If you have a weak bladder, and tend to pee yourself whilst laughing, then this site is not for you. Highly recommended for those wannabe sailors seeking spin free truth, edification and enlightenment about the Service, but please refrain from using either ‘Txt Speak M8’, or long words like ‘Wheelbloodybarrow’.
FORCES REUNITED: An excellent site for those searching for old mess and shipmates. Easy to navigate, with good search facilities, and the annual joining fee is a veritable snip.
