KRANJSKA GORA

14 – 21 May 2008

A group of 27 of us, mostly from our Wednesday RA walking group went on an Ingham’s holiday to Hotel Larix in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia.

Kranjska Gora was really pretty.  The picture on the left above is our view from the bedroom window.

The scenery was stunning on this guided walk past Jasna Lake

Gentians were everywhere and lots of other wild flowers

A group of us set off on a waterfalls walk.  This had its scary moments.

Rob went the extra mile to fill Jill’s water bottle at the second fall.

This spot was known as Kirkby’s Leap, as Ron had got wet feet here on the way up

Bled was pretty even on a very wet day.  Joan and a few others had travelled there by bus but Rob, Marion and Ted decided to travel under their own steam.  They arrived covered in mud as the bikes had no mudguards.

It was another rainy day when we walked up to look at the ski jumps

Eight of us set off to climb Tromeja, to where the borders of Italy, Austria and Slovenia meet.

The views improved all the way.

Here, Ted paused to catch his breath, but we all made it to the top

This waterfall looked really dramatic on close inspection.  The middle picture is taken from behind the fall.

The last evening.
