AMERICA’S CANYONLANDS

15 September - 01 October 2005

This was a Ramblers’ Holiday.  We’ve always enjoyed them and this was one of the best.

Our first walks were in Bryce Canyon.  The scenery was amazing.

Zion was so very different, even though only 50 miles or so away.

Arches was most spectacular.  These are three of over 100 photos we took here!

Mesa Verde is full of interesting archaeological sites.  The fall colours were just appearing here.

We toured Monument Valley in an open sided four wheel drive.  Is that John Wayne in the distance?

Finally we arrived at the Grand Canyon.  The pictures above are taken from South Rim

Our cross canyon hike was the highlight of the holiday.  The descent to the Colorado River was no problem.

The ascent (6,000ft and 14 miles) to North Rim was long and hot but so worth it!  The scenery was awesome!

The last night in Las Vegas was a total contrast!!!  We loved this too!!
