JUNIOR SECTION

2008 SEASON


The 2008 junior season will commence on Friday 25 April (see times for relevant a
Subscriptions can be paid on this evening. Members of the committee will be available
discuss any points parents may wish to raise or clarify.


The summer coaching programme runs from April to July and is organised as follows:-

 

Junior Club - Fri April 25 - Fri July 18
(NOTE no tennis Friday May 30 & June 27 )
NOTE START TIMES

FRIDAY – 4.15 - 5.15pm Girls Y3, Y4, Y5, Y6
5.30 - 6.30pm Boys Y3, Y4, Y5, Y6
6.30 - 7.30pm Mixed Y7, Y8
7.30 onwards Mixed Y9+

MINI TENNIS Mon April 21 - Mon July 14
(NOTE no tennis Monday May 5 & 26 June 30 )
Nursery/Reception 4.45 - 5.30 £2.00 /week *
Year1/Year2 5.30 - 6.30 £2.50 /week *
(*unless a paid member)

SATURDAY 6pm
Unsupervised playing evening for juniors at secondary school. (see Junior Notice Board for organised events & tournament

REFRESHMENTS
Soft drinks and crisps will be on sale at organised junior sessions.

STANDARD OF ATTIRE
Only recognised tennis clothing and tennis shoes will be allowed.
(Astroturf football shoes not allowed)
Football shirts, jeans, not allowed.

JUNIOR COUNTY CLOSED CHAMPIONSHIP
To be held at Yarm - August 26th - Sat August 30th

Individual coaching will be available on request subject to coach availability.

CLEVELAND LEAGUE –
Boys team 13U & 16U, Girls Team 13U & 16U
Matches played Saturday and Sunday 10am or 2pm
Played between May& July - Home or Away

NATIONAL JUNIOR CLUB LEAGUE
Boys 12U & 14U & 16U & Girls 12U & 14U
Played March & April, home & away fixtures

Mini Tennis RED (born 2000 or later) & ORANGE
(born 1999, 2000, 2001) League
To be played 2nd Sat of May, June & July at Tennis World.
Red 9:00 ? 10:30. Orange 10:30 ? 1:30

THE ROAD TO WIMBLEDON
NATIONAL 14 & UNDER CHALLENGE
Singles tournament for Girls & Boys born 1994 or later. 14U Knockout Challenge. Enter by March 20th
Finals - MAY 17th/18th

FUN DOUBLES TOURNAMENT (Boys & Girls)
Year 6 and below
SATURDAY MAY 17th 5pm - 8pm entry £3.00

BIGLAND BOWL. Fun junior mixed doubles Tournament + Barbecue.
Year 7 & above
SATURDAY JULY 5 - 6pm - 9pm entry £3.00

Match 2 Tour open singles events, boys/girls
Sat June 14th 14&U (born 1994 or later) ratings 9.1/9.2
(There will be a separate entry form for these events, as there will
be a series of there around the county). 4 - 7 pm

Mini Green Singles Tournament
Sat July 19th (Born 1998 or later)
(There will be separate entry form for this event, as there will be a
series of these events around the county). 4 - 7 pm

Junior Club Championships will be held during the
season, with Finals Day on Sat Sept 6th , Sunday 9th if wet.
Closing date May 9th

From time to time we take photographs of juniors playing in events at the club for publicity purposes – if you do not wish your child to be in these please sign in the space provided at the bottom of the application form.
