YARM TENNIS CLUB

Introduction It’s that time of year again. All members are requested to complete fully all the forms detailed on the Membership Subscription Page and return them to the Membership Secretary, along with a stamped addressed envelope for the return of membership shoe tags. Please note that there are some extra forms to complete this year in order for us to comply with LTA guidelines. If you have not seen already, you will soon notice the improvement work which has gone on over the winter period. Both the muddy grass area and the knock-up wall have been laid with tarmac, providing better possibilities of use. In addition, the fencing and access to the courts has also been upgraded. Team Practice & Matches Mens & Ladies team practice takes place on Sunday evenings commencing Sun March 30th at 6pm. Please come along if you wish to be considered for one of our teams: if you can?t make Sundays but are interested please contact - Anne Clayton on 07760198336, or call at the club any evening. We now have 5 men?s, 4 ladies and 1 mixed teams. Home matches are mainly played Tuesday & Thursday evenings w/c April 21st . 6 courts will be used from 6:20pm. A few matches will be played on Wednesdays. Club Nights & Afternoons Monday and Wednesday evenings (starting Mon 14 th April at 6:30 pm) are organised senior club nights, when players of all levels are encouraged to mix in and play doubles with other club members. Wednesday and Saturday mornings are also informal club times. League matches may sometimes restrict court availability on Saturdays/Sundays.

Juniors Junior coaching will start on Friday 25 April - see the junior sheet for all information. Please note that Friday evenings are for Juniors only and all courts will be used. Note also that juniors are not eligible to play in senior tournaments. Open Day 2008– Saturday April 27th The club will be open for all non-members to come along and give tennis and the club a try. Coaches will be on hand to help new players and improvers, both junior and adult. Please invite along any friends you think may be interested. The club will be open Juniors from 12 noon ? 1:30pm Adults/Students 2pm - 4pm. Families any time from 12 to 4 pm. Wimbledon Ticket Draw –Wednesday May 14th To be held after Club Night at 8:00 pm, this evening is for the drawing of Wimbledon Tickets (all paid-up members, including Juniors, are eligible). Those successful in the draw must pay in full for their tickets on the night. Box Leagues for men & ladies This is a chance for competitive singles to be played throughout the season. Men’s open singles championship & Veterans championships played throughout the season. Adult Coaching Group coaching commences Monday 21st April Dates are listed in the Adult Diary sheet The cost is just £3.00 per session.
