What John Kerry should say and do.
by Charles Judson Harwood Jr.
I will bring the troops home.
And hand to the U.N. Security Council the keys to Iraq.
We are killing the flower of Iraqi youth.
And why is this?
Nearly every person in Iraq believes that George Bush has a hidden agenda:
At least, the parts which matter to us: Internal security, foreign affairs, defense, intelligence {copy, copy}, and oil. (Like the “democracies” Reagan/Bush crafted for Central America).
To accomplish this, they believe George Bush will do what the U.S. has done all over the world:
Put key Iraqi government officials on the secret CIA payroll, sneak key provisions into the constitution and law, and rig elections as needs be.
George Bush’s hidden agenda is what the flower of Iraqi youth are fighting against.
This, and the iron fist of foreign invaders and occupiers who believe that 1,000 Iraqi lives aren’t worth a single American life, and conduct military operations accordingly.
The flower of Iraqi youth see themselves engaged in a great, patriotic, honorable, cause — freedom fighters, justly opposing an unjust, devious, dangerous, American enterprise, to subject them to the permanent tyranny of an unseen hand, and obedient, greedy, puppets.
And the iron boot of an alien power.
As in Vietnam, for every Iraqi we humiliate, arrest, abuse, or kill, we enrage dozens of Iraqi youth to avenge them.
With escalating support, among the Iraqi population, for them and their just cause.
Just as we, and our own American youth, would do, in like circumstances, confronting a ruthless foreign occupier, with a hidden agenda.
As so, in this election, you have a stark choice.
If you like things the way they are, vote for George Bush.
And open up your pocket-book, to pay for his foolish Homeland Security, and foreign adventures, swelling hatred of America.
But, if you want to put an end to the justified, worldwide hatred of America, then vote for John Kerry for President.
I will renounce George Bush’s hidden agenda.
And withdraw U.S. forces from Iraq.
And put an end to these, the main reasons for violence there.
And we, together, will bankroll (for our sins) a replacement force, from other countries, with no hidden agenda.
And we, together, will bankroll the U.N. effort to ensure a free and fair election.
And I will ensure that no hidden hand, of the CIA, will pull strings, behind the scenes, to rig the election.
Who knows, for being rid of George Bush, Iraqis might one day restore our bankroll, in gratitude. After they restore their oil revenues, and expand them, from the second largest oil reserves on earth.
_______________
And what of the foreign fighters?
Flooding into Iraq.
Eager for a piece of America?
You’d hate America too, if you were on the receiving end of what we’ve dished out the past 60 years.
America is a lawless rogue state.
And why is that?
Because America will not be held to account in any court of law, anywhere on the planet.
You can’t sue the United States of America.
And so, you have another vote to cast as well.
And many of you, two votes.
There’s one thing I can’t do as President.
But you can do it, as voters:
I can’t submit the United States to the rule of law.
It is as much the duty of government to render prompt justice against itself, in favor of citizens, as it is to administer the same between private individuals.
–Abraham Lincoln, State of the Union, 1861
I can’t make the United States accountable, in a court of law, for peaceable remedies, to the victims of U.S. wrongdoing.
Only Congress can do that.
And that means you can do that.
With your second and third votes.
All 435 seats in the House of Representatives are up for election, just like me.
Ask the media in your district, to ask each candidate, this one question:
Will they vote, in Congress, as John Kerry asks?
To abolish the exceptions to the Federal Tort Claims Act?
Which prevent U.S. Courts from hearing complaints, by victims, of alleged U.S. wrongdoing, and award them damages, if their claims prove valid.
Listen carefully to their answers.
And then vote for the candidate who says this:
“Yes. I will vote as John Kerry asks.”
Regardless of their political party.
Likewise in the Senate, where one-third of its members are also on this ballot.
Our refusal, to be held accountable, under the rule of law, for our own wrongdoings, is the single source of most of the justified hatred of America.
And most of the wrongdoing by the United States.
Because U.S. officers feel no restraint.
They know the U.S. cannot be held to account for its wrongdoing.
And neither can they, for their wrongdoing.
With your vote, the world’s “terrorists” — or valiant, righteous warriors, as they see themselves, now with huge popular support around the world — will put down their bombs and bullets, pick up their popcorn, switch-on their TVs, and tune into the trials.
To hear judges pronounce on the rights and wrongs of the prima facie crimes and torts of the United States.
And watch U.S. taxpayers pay.
For what we have done.

_______________
And if John Kerry won’t say, and do, as I say?
Well, this is what I think about that:
If Kerry doesn’t attack, over Iraq, then he’s no kind of leader, and I’d as soon have Bush. At least we get entertainment with Bush.
I’m content for Kerry to hold his fire, and chose his ground. But his ground is the first debate. And that’s when he better attack:
“I will bring the troops home. In a big hurry. I will turn it over to the UN. I will disclaim Bush’s hidden agendas: permanent military bases in Iraq; a sticky finger in Iraq’s vast untapped oil wealth.
The problems in Iraq are not the flower of Iraqi youth, we kill every day — freedom fighters resisting Bush’s hidden agendas.
We are the problem in Iraq.
Bush has made us the most hated nation on earth, a magnet to every young man who despises lies, deceit, and imperialism.”
