Stoke Paramotor Club
'home of the infamous black hawks'
Welcome
Situated in the heart of the Midlands, Stoke on Trent, Barlaston. Stunning scenery, fantastic flying fields and a group who run into their dreams of flight at every possible opportunity.
What is Paramotoring?
The latest development in ultra
light aviation, Paramotors (aka powered paragliders/foot launched
aircraft) combine the easy and safe flying characteristics of
paragliding with the autonomy and range of powered flight. Paramotors
are easy to fly but be well educated before leaping aloft; being foot
launched they do not need a runway/airfield to operate from. They can be
flown from an open field with no restriction (apart from air law) and do
not require hours on end waiting for the right 'hill conditions'. They
are easily stored, with the majority of Paramotor manufactures supplying
collapsible cages. They are quickly and easily rigged and de-rigged and
once dismantled, can be put in the boot of an average family size car.
Is It Expensive?
Having a budget of around £5500 should see you with new equipment and cover the cost of basic training, getting you in the air....safely. On the other hand, and making it the second one, you can reduce that figure considerably. Running costs are minimal,
making Paramotoring perhaps the cheapest form of powered flying available to date.
