MERSEY BATON RELAY

In June 2007 we took part in the Mersey Baton Relay organised by the Mersey Basin Campaign to celebrate World Environment day.  This involved a wooden salmon making its way from Stockport to Liverpool by a number of modes of transport including cycle, walk, row, canoe and sail.  Our part was to take the salmon from Stockport to Sale Water Park where we handed it over to the canoeists.  Mersey Basin Campaign have supplied us with a number of photos of our section which I reproduce here with due acknowledgement to them.
