
Now that the 88 quattro has been back on the road for over six months I thought that I'd better turn to the 81 and continue stripping it.

Actually, it doesn't look all that bad in this picture but thats because the wheel well is in shadow. Take a closer look at the top of the door - doesn't fit very tighly does it?

This is the front of the left-hand sill after I removed the wing. With holes here I was expecting to find them all the way along but...
this is all I've found so far.

On the subject of holes, what about this one - its in the right-hand footwell (passenger's) and yes, that's the ground.....

This is the same area but from the outside, you can't see the hole but that row of bright spots is actually holes that have been left when a impact caused some spotwelds to fail.

Few areas of the body have escaped the ravages of rust - this is the inside of the right-hand rear wing where it meets the rear wheel tub.
