Jillian's Parents

Jill's father was James Gairdner Craig.  He was born on 24 April 1922 in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.  He was brought up in Fraserburgh by his mother Elizabeth Taylor and his father James Craig.  He signed up to the army when he was about 15 by lying about his age.  Unfortunately he ended spending a lot of time as a Prisoner of War and by all accounts was very badly treated.  After the War, by 1946 when he had become a postal & telegraph officer he married Annie Wallace Howat Morrison on 16 February 1946. He died in November 1991 in East Kilbride, Scotland.

Annie Wallace Howat Morrison

Jillian had two siblings, an older sister and brother, Elizabeth and John.  The family moved to Johnstone in Renfrewshire in 1965.  Annie was named after her Maternal Grandmother.  The Wallace in her given name came from her great grandmother Ann Wallace. Sadly Annie died on the 28th October, 2001.
