Ben is now
21 years old, he has been
riding since he was 3 and racing since he was 6. His first bike at 18 months
old
was a battery powered KTM, when he was still 3 he became the proud owner of a 30cc Minerelli, he rode this until he was 5. He then rode a Honda QR, he raced this
bike at 6 years old at Kent & East Kent tracks with his best result coming
on the bigger LEM where he became National Champ when he raced on a
separate Auto track at Canada Heights. Further successes that year included the
National Auto Championship. The Auto became a 60 at 7 years old winning the East
Kent Championship and 3rd at the A.C.U. final. The 80 saw Ben winning the Canada
Heights International, 3rd at the ACU. & BSMA. finals and winning the
Ladram Bay National and once again East Kent Champion. Into the 100s and the
first year saw Ben 6th overall in the BSMA. Finals and East Kent Champ once
again. The second year in the 100s saw Ben on a red bike for the first time and
the BYMX. Championship saw Ben 3rd at the half way stage but machine failures
from that point on made the top 3 impossible. Riding in Venray, Holland Ben took 3rd and the 99
season was rounded off with 2nd when he represented Great Britain in Denmark.
Ben's 2000 campaign started well with some scorching qualifying at the BYMX
National series and finishes in the top 6 but a broken hand followed by a
broken foot dented his season. 2001 on the other hand was
his chance to get his well needed adult points, which he did on a 125 Yamaha,
and get good adult experience under his belt. As 2002 came along the option to
compete in the Under 21 and British Championships arose which he snapped up,
After qualifying for his first race at Canada Heights he then damaged his back
in the first race, this continued to give him problems right through until
wakes clone. Once his back had healed he damaged his wrist at the under 21
event at wakes clone, this forced him out the Culham round of the British
champs and the under 21 round at Blaxhall Pits. He
was at Hawkstone park however riding this time a Honda CRF450 as he did at
Pontrilas.
The 20043 season, Ben was the youngest rider in the British Open Championship and he scored
7 points.
The 2004 season saw Ben attacking the top10 in not only the
British 4 Stroke series (with a 6th Overall his best finish) but the MX1 class
in the Maxxis British Championship also saw Ben showing he was capable of
stepping up to the top 10 in only his second season .

thought about Ben when he was on
a KX60.
The 2005 season saw Ben Break into the top 10 at Maxxis
British Championship level, but some indifferent results left his overall
position not reflecting some brilliant rides. The British 4 Stroke series
gave Ben a well deserved podium spot at the final round.
The 2006 saw Ben signed up for a Team with
some proper backing. The SMX Yamaha Team recognised the natural talent,
(one of the few British Championship riders that has never practised
mid-week) which has earned Ben his great results. After 3 years on a Honda
Ben Switches to the 450F Yamaha and as soon as that is dialled in the Lammy
machine should start picking up British Championship points.
After a steep learning curve on the Yamaha Ben picked up good British
Championship points in both Maxxis and the four stroke series and earned the
honour of being highest finishing British rider in the MX3
European championship standings.
2007 saw another major change with the
team going KTM but missing out in the first MX3 round in France due to the
bike being the wrong engine capacity.
