Sea Cadets are never happier than
when on the water! Our powerboat
fleet consists of around 250
conventional motorboats in total,
suitable for teaching the basics of
handling a powered launch. Cadets
learn about sea terms, the parts of
a boat, how to understand orders and
to use safety equipment, as well as
seamanship and navigation. They
learn how to run basic engineering
checks, and are taught first aid,
fire precautions and basic
firefighting – all skills which are
useful in everyday life. Royal
Yachting Association (RYA) courses
in powerboating are available.
