I
fucking LOVE this CD.
(Everett True)
the
general tone of the release is similar to a lo-fi avalanches,
so is definitely worth checking out. but the packaging also deserves
a mention. this 7 comes with a mini scrabble board and pieces
spelling the name out guitare brothers .. what a wicked idea!
who says inventiveness is dead?
(musicalbear)
Oddly
disjointed and slightly sinister sounds like a budding robotic dancer
discovering a couple of early 80s casios in the loft and layering numerous
one finger melodies together to create miniature slow-motion games soundtracks,
best of which is Glow with its prowling two note bass line and the sound
of a keyboard sucking its notes back in.
(Boa)
Perhaps
this guy thinks my stereo should be on the
other side of the room.
(Splendid)
Minimalist
electronic art with cool sounds splashing around throughout. It's kinda
hard to compare this to anything 'cause I haven't heard much like it
before. Sometimes it sounds like static with good beats and often it's
filled with great buzzing and tweeting... This
is fresh and interesting noise.
(Speck)
every
so often, an artist comes along with a pathetically
simple musical offering that garners mind-blowing results

very good at throwing the bad stuff away. Like doing a remix.
In fact,
Guitare Brothers is just remixing what we've sent each
other. And for me that's mostly throwing away what you did!"

would dread to think what their music would Do to a queue of
people in my local clothes shop"

electronic music back to the Atari sound-effect age"

"I've
still got a copy of Now That's What I Call Music 1," he admits,
catching
me off guard. I find myself admitting to the double tape set of

"Whats
that god awful racket youre playing in the background? It
sounds like a child stuck in a washing machine ! It
sounds like a broken, evil toy! Is it meant to sound like that?"

I
think it all started listening to his

like
the wonderful melodies you'd expect to get out from the
tiny speaker of a mutant Gameboy high on radioactivity.
