Ulysses Yves-Kindling was as a child fascinated by the power of
fire. While growing up in Burnley he worked in the family business,
pioneering a range of gentlemen's scents, Smoke, at the tender age
of 13 and developing the brand to such an extent that ten years
later it overtook Hai Karate as the number one aftershave in North
Yorkshire chemists.
His musical
career was kicked off when, while acting as matchmaker for a couple
of friends, he was struck by an idea: "What would happen if someone
combined the sounds of The Tindersticks and Big Flame?" He rushed
out and purchased a computer and immediately set to work. The Guy
Who Invented Fire is the result.
Shortly
afterwards, in a freak stage accident involving lighter fluid, a
Fender Telecaster and a brother, he also became one of the Guitare
Brothers.
