About St George's Day Parade

Each year the Scout District holds a parade where all Venture Scouts, Scouts, Cub Scouts and Beavers parade through Stafford in front of the local Mayor and attend a service at Saint Mary's church in the centre of town. The parade takes place on the nearest Sunday to Saint Georges Day (the 23rd April), and celebrates St. George the patron Saint of England who legend has it killed a Dragon and saved a town.
