My daughter Lucy and her boy friend Barry are both in the Mini Club and last year they went on to a few Mini rallies, so I told the wife that when I've finished building the Bug and many other jobs I would restore an old Mini for lucy, now I happen to mention this to my brother, Ho!! Says brother John I've just been offered one by some I know?
So he finds out more about the Mini and guess what I bought it (well Lucy paid for it).

     

       A few details

   Age 1976
   Model Austin 850cc
   Condition Poor Brake seized,
   Engine seized,
   In need of love and care.
   Been in a garage for the last     10years,  Lucy as asked if I can get it ready for her to drive to Cornwall in May this year??
Well I've made a start and I freed off the  rear brakes so we could push it on to the trailer, and I've got the engine running,
I fitted a new Fuel Lift pump as well.

 

This weekend 12-13th March I took the wife to Skegness in Lincolnshire just 200 miles away from home to sort out some of the details of the Bug Club 35th rally.
more details on this to follow later.

I've planed the Bug rallies that intend to go to this year, I'm glad to see a few different rally sites being used this year as going to the same sites very year gets boring.

Sept 30,1,2nd The Bug Club AGM Copt Oak, Leicester

All the above start on Friday and end on Sunday, this means you arrive some time Friday and set up camp with a tent or campervan or caravan, and join in with the social side of the rally.
On the Saturday there is normally a road run to a point of interests, then in the evening we have a drink and chat with other social goings on.
Sunday is a show day were the cars are put on show, and at most rallies there is a price presentation, and after this we pack up and go home.
