The Black Velvet Band

The Black Velvet Band have been entertaining audiences with their unique blend of traditional and  sometimes not so traditional Irish music for over 12 years. They never fail to please & are guaranteed to bring you a relaxed & humorous evening of entertainment, but make sure that you do not run out of the black stuff.

To ensure there are no excuses for anyone not to join in the fun, song sheets are handed out so, by the end of the evening, even the most reluctant will be joining in the choruses

the band

peter (5-strings) raven - the handsome one on guitar and vocals who has a part-time job singing with the smurfs!!

and by no means least, the urban bassman -sir steve austin - valiantly coping with the conflicting demands of producing an excellent sound thro the pa, while somehow keeping the band under control with a constant supply of guinness.
