Lessons & Charges (full policy below)
Marie Fearnley, Finance Officer
Where do lessons take place?
Lessons normally take place in school during normal teaching hours. In the case of secondary schools every effort is made to rotate weeks to avoid missing the same lesson every week. In some cases lessons can take place at Music Centre or at an alternative venue.
How much do lessons cost?
For Primary and Secondary pupils the cost is £ 6.60 per lesson including the hire of a top quality instrument (£4.80 if you have your own) per 30 minute lesson. Over each term we aim to deliver ten lessons. Please note that this does not add up to a lesson every single week. This is to allow for training days etc.
Remission Scheme: Pupils who qualify for free school meals pay just £2.24 per lesson inclusive of instrument hire
These prices include FREE membership of as many Music Centre bands, orchestras or choirs as you wish and there is no extra cost to take part in concerts, tours, recording sessions etc.
You can pay monthly with three months off per year and you can also set up a direct debit and pay online. Full details in the charging policy below.
What happens if we miss lessons?
Pupils who miss lessons without informing their TVMS teacher or the TVMS office in advance will be charged at the normal lesson rate.
In the case of a failure on our part to make the 30 lesson target a refund will be made for the lesson or lessons not delivered at the end of the year.
