Sam Squirrel's Story Page 46

Hello, this is Sam again. My human family are quite amusing really. I hear the tales they tell each other and this is one that you will enjoy.

It happened to Mother human a long time ago and she told it to one of the human Grandchildren.

It happened when Mother human went into a Pet shop. She had some pet budgerigars and went to buy some more seed and millet sprays for them.
She was looking round the shop as there were some interesting things there. They had all sorts of food and toys for the pets.

"Oh  -  yes please" said Mother human as she turned round to speak to the shopkeeper.

BUT     there was nobody there!

Mother human was puzzled and looked all round the shop but couldn't see anybody.

THEN

"Hello    -     can I help you ?" said the voice.

Mother human had a VERY careful look this time and STILL couldn't see anyone.

"Hello    -     can I help you ?" said the voice.

This time, Mother human looked all round VERY carefully and noticed a black bird in a cage up at the top .
As she watched him

"Hello    -     can I help you ?" said the voice of the black bird.

Well!    Mother human did laugh  -  She knew then who had 'spoken'. It was the black Mynah bird.

I think that the bird had heard the words so often he could mimic them really well.
