Hi, this is Sooty speaking. I haven't seen Sam for a long time so I visited him while the humans were away.I used to live with Sam's human family years ago but left to find a quieter home.
Well - they had a dog at the time and I am not keen on dogs.
She was quite a nice dog really and didn't chase me but she did like the heat from the fire. You can see by the picture that she was a LARGE dog and when she slept by the fire there was NO heat at all coming in my direction.
I like my comfort and thought up a neat way to get her to move so I could get to the fire.
I crept up close to her and then JUMPED up into the air with a loud 'miaow', as though I was attacking her.
Well - surprise, surprise !! - she immediately moved away and I landed, just so, right in front of the warm fire.I was delighted with my trick and did it many times.
In the end I could do it so well that she would just move enough for me to get in and then she kept the draught off me as well.
I felt very proud of my clever trick and Sam says that he thinks that cats are definitely more clever than dogs.
