Hi, this is Sam Squirrel talking. Today's story is about some field mice.
The human Family had put a bird house on top of an old tree stump. They used to
put some nuts out there for the birds but, as you can guess, certain squirrels would eat the lot.Mother human had bought a ceramic bird feeder this time and really thought she had defeated Scatty. But, more of that battle another time.
Father and Mother human used to watch the birds feeding on the nuts from inside the house.
Well, one day they had a big surprise as there was a little field mouse on the bird feeder. 
They watched him for quite a while but then he must have heard them. You can see
in the picture that he is listening very carefully.
All of a sudden, he scampered up the bird feeder but lost his grip on the top and fell into the leaves.
He was quite unhurt and quickly ran up the tree trunk back to the bird house and up into the nest at the top.The human Family saw the two field mice many times after that. They were actually living in the box in the top of the bird house.
