Hello people, this is Scatty to tell you the latest story.
My friend Sam Squirrel is asleep in the porch so I can tell the story without any interruptions.Those humans have been at it again! They bought a new bird feeder with a strong bottom so I couldn't chew through it easily.
I felt quite cross (and hungry too !) but when I calmed down I had a serious think.
You really cannot let these humans get away with defeating Squirrels, can you !I thought
- I like nuts
- I am hungry
- There are nuts in that bird feeder
- So how do I get them ?
- I chewed the bottom off the last feeder
- I can't chew the bottom off this feeder
- AHA I could chew somewhere else on this feeder
So that is what I did. I chewed the side one strand, at a time, like undoing a zip.
I had to make quite a long hole to get the nuts out but after that it was quite easy.
