Sam Squirrel's Story Page 09

Hello,  this is Sam Squirrel and this is another story about those naughty squirrels in the human Family's garden.

You probably remember the story about Scatty throwing the bird feeder down on the ground to get at the peanuts.

Well the human Family 'fixed' that   -   they used some string and tied the bird feeder onto the branch, so Scatty couldn't unhook it.

Hey, Sammie! I don't think that story is quite right.      Oh, by the way, this is Scatty speaking and I am going to tell the story from now on!

The human Family thought that they had been very clever.     Of course, I could have undone the string anytime I wanted !

But I had a better idea.  You see  -  the bottom of the feeder was made of some soft stuff (the humans call it 'plastic')

I have some lovely strong teeth so I chewed through the base of the feeder.
The bottom fell off and all the peanuts fell to the ground.

What a feast I had  -  I ate, and ate, and ate until my tummy ached, but there were still some nuts left for the other garden creatures.

The human Family were very cross as the feeder was no good any more and they had to buy a new one.
