Hello, this is Sam squirrel again.

The human Family have spent a lot of money on different bird feeders in the last year.

Of course, we know what has happened to some of them !!

This month, I thought you might like to help them out by designing a new squirrel feeder.

Sorry ! did I say 'Squirrel' feeder    -   no, I meant Bird feeder.

None of the human Family really want to stop Scatty and his friends from having the peanuts.

The problem is that he is rather greedy and takes as many nuts as he can.

He eats as much as he can and buries the rest.

The poor birds come to have a feed and there is nothing left.

See if you can think of something clever and draw it on a piece of paper.

Remember :-

• It has to be fastened to a branch, or something, to stop it being thrown down.
  
  
• It has to be strong to stop him gnawing through it.
  
  
• The birds must be able to peck through to get at the nuts with their beaks.
  
  
• It must hold quite a few peanuts so the Family don't have to keep filling it up.
  
  
• It shouldn't be brittle (not like the one Mother human broke!
