The Merseyside Guild of Weavers Programme

 

When and where does the Guild meet?

Our meetings take place on the first Saturday of each month (except August when there is no meeting) in Sister Anthony's studio at the Metropolitan Cathedral, Liverpool. The studio is open from 10.30 and meetings start at 11am or 1.30pm. Why not come earlier to meetings to chat, bring work to do? Make a day of it instead of half a day. Tea, coffee and biscuits available - help and friendship too!

Meetings start at 10.30am. Afternoon speakers usually begin at 1.45pm. All-day workshops are indicated in the programme.

2005 Programme

  • 1 October - Embroidery in Bangladesh – talk by Rubina Porter about her work in the Sreepur women and children's village in rural Bangladesh.

  • 5 November - Members' Meeting – spin and chat or just take the opportunity to catch up on the latest news and views.

  • 3 December - Members' meeting – Mince Pies and Mulled Wine – bring your hand crafted Christmas cards – the theme is "I only get it out at Christmas!" - competition and sale.

 

Weekend Workshop - This years weekend workshop is on the 14th and 15th of May with Alex James. Weave a willow angel, in Elaine's Garden, Willaston. We are hoping for brilliant summers days as we weave our willow in Willaston!

Autumn Workshop - Susan Briscoe will instruct us on the fascinating art of Sashiko. This is a full day.

 

Meetings cost £1 to paid up members and £2 for visitors, except for full day workshops which cost £5 for non-members.
