Mountbatten

Cards

This Christmas why not send an original card or print to colleagues, family and friends? The Mountbatten range of cards and limited edition prints feature many favourite landmarks of London, mostly painted by acclaimed watercolour artist, Terry McKivragan, which are sure to delight those who receive them.  We also have a few designs by other artists such as Ian Armour Chelu and Harold George.

CH7: Chelsea Hospital
by Terry McKivragan R.I.

Our cards are printed with the message "With Best Wishes for Christmas and the New Year",  and most are also available as blank cards. Most of our cards are 6” x 7¾”, but this year we also have four cards in the smaller 3⅞” x 6” size at 55p per card.

Colour reproduction:  Please note that the colours seen on your computer screen could vary.  For an accurate representation of our cards, please ask us for a brochure or a sample card.

Stock availability:  The situation can change quickly in the run-up to Christmas!  To avoid disappointment, please phone 020 8742 2324 to check that the card you want is still in stock.

Your own painting or photograph, or one of our “Out of Stock” images: Cards showing your own image are also available at 85p per card, including envelope – minimum order 100 cards.  Any of our designs which show limited or no stock can also be printed to order.  Prices are even better for large orders – please call us for a quote.  Please order before 31 October for Christmas 2011.

Charity donation: 25% of the net proceeds from the sale of these cards is donated to the charity of your choice.  In 2010 cheques were sent to over 90 different charities.  Please see the Charities page for our suggestions. However, remember that when you choose a Mountbatten Christmas Card you can donate your gift to your own chosen charity – we believe we are the only card company that provides this unique facility!

Original Watercolours

Mountbatten Cards have original watercolours of many of Terry McKivragan’s paintings available for sale.  Prices range from £100 to £400 each. Please contact us to find out if a particular picture is still available.  We can also arrange for specially commissioned watercolours of London scenes.

Limited Edition Prints

Strictly Limited Edition Prints are available of most of Terry McKivragan’s paintings as follows:

A3 size prints @ £60 unframed: limited to 50 of each painting.

A4 size prints @ £40 unframed: limited to 50 of each painting.

Each has a parchment-coloured border measuring approximately one inch and ½ inch respectively.  The prints are reproduced using the “Giclee” method. This provides longer-lasting brighter colours and reproduces the surface textures of the original painting.   We also have a few laser prints of some paintings available at a lower price.  Please phone or e-mail us to order a print.

Terry McKivragan RI
Born in Cheshire, Terry McKivragan studied at Wimbledon School of Art, gaining his National Diploma in Design.  There then followed a career in commercial art as a designer and illustrator, culminating in the running of his own design studio.  As an illustrator, he developed a love for watercolours which, inspired by the later works of Turner, grew in strength so that he gradually left the commercial world to concentrate on watercolour painting and later also in acrylics, a medium that lends itself to paintings with a more impressionistic approach, exploring the use of colour and textures.

These paintings have brought successes including the Hunting Prize finalists’ exhibition, the Lain Art finalists’ exhibition, the RA Summer Exhibition, the Singer Friedlander/Sunday Times Watercolour Exhibition and the Discerning Eye Exhibition. After winning the RI medal, Terry was elected a member of the Institute in 1997.  He has exhibited with various Mall Galleries societies, the NEAC, the RSMA and the RBA, and he is a member of The Chelsea Art Society.

Terry’s work has been featured in “Acrylics Masterclass”, a book which discusses the work of nine artists; “Paint! Seascapes and Waterways”, a book which compares the work of fourteen artists; “The Watercolour Skies and Clouds Techniques of 23 International Artists”; and a new book, by Jackie Simmonds: “Watercolour Innovations” featuring eight artists’ work.  Terry’s paintings are to be found in various galleries round the UK and in private and corporate collections throughout the UK and abroad.
