HALL OF FAME

Without doubt - The best ever Westend team!

The above team played a total of 67 successive matches (winning 65 and drawing 2) before losing a match in the Junior League.

Eddie McNamee

Eddie McNamee became the first open age player to reach a century of appearances for Westend FC in the District League. He joined the club at nine years of age and played for six years with Westend in the Junior League.  A versatile player who can play anywhere except between the sticks.  Likes dressing up at weekends and is a bit of a ladies man.  He is pictured with another Westend stalwart John Venters who is on 99 appearances and will shortly join him in the Westend Hall Of Fame.

Eddie has missed most of the season following an operation, but is now back to full fitness and looking forward to the remaining 15 matches.

George Wilkins and Shaun Townend

'Little George' as he is affectionately known is one of the most popular characters in local football.  A well respected referee who has officiated at every Westend Tournament since the inaugural one in 2001. Was awarded a Westend Jacket in 2007 but dare not wear it when refereeing matches involving our club!

Shaun Townend has been with Westend FC since 1993 and has served on the club's management team from that date.  He is also a prominent member of the RCD  League Committee.

Appointed Football Development Manager at Westend FC in 2006 he also coaches the under 8s and the under 16s and is the Open Age First Team Assistant Manager.

Luke Robertson

Luke became the first (and to date) the only player to score 150 goals for Westend FC.  He has been at the club since the age of five and reached this milestone playing for our under 16 team on the final match of the season!

Luke is now playing in our Open Age section and he has underlined his striking potential with a number of goals for the Reserves.

Cameron Jerome

He began his career at home town club Westend Juniors before moving on to Huddersfield Town as a junior, then moved on to Middlesbrough, where he was released before gaining a contract at Cardiff City He also spent time as a junior at Grimsby Town and Sheffield Wednesday.

Described by the BBC as "one of Cardiff's rising stars", Jerome scored seven goals in 32 appearances in the 2004–05 season, and was in a good run of form in the 2005–06 season, finishing top scorer for Cardiff with 20 goals. Due to his hot form this ended him up by eventually signing for second-city club Birmingham City.

Jerome has appeared for England's under-21 team, for whom he is eligible until the end of the 2009 European Under-21 Football Championship.

Cameron Jerome signed for Birmingham City after passing a medical on May 31, 2006. It is thought the transfer fee could total up to £3.5 million dependent on Birmingham's future success.  He netted his first league goal for Birmingham City against QPR at Loftus Road on September 12, 2006.

Jerome scored his first Premier League goal after 32 seconds of the away match against Derby County on August 25, 2007; his second goal of that game confirmed Birmingham's first win of the 2007–08 season.
