FOOTBALL IS ALWAYS FUN AT WESTEND!

Congratulations to Under 16 player Luke Robertson who notched his 150th goal for Westend in the 2-0 victory over Greetland .  The Gledholt youngster has been with the club since the age of four and will now take his place in  Westend FC history. 

The Robertson family have been loyal supporters of Westend FC for over 11 years. Mum Therese can be seen on the touchline every weekend and  dad Michael referees as many as three matches a week for the Club throughout the season.  Luke's brother Jacob plays for the Under 15 squad and has been one of their most consistent defenders for many years.  Not to be outdone, sister Francesca  is a regular scorer for the girl's Under 13 team in the West Riding Girls League.  

Manager Ricky Thwaites was very pleased with Luke's achievement saying, " He has always been one of the best finishers at the Club and scored lots of goals during his formative years in the Westend Mini Soccer League on Saturday mornings.  I am hoping he and the other Under 16 players will join the Open Age section next season and play for Westend FC for many years to come."  Thwaites was quick to praise the contribution of all the squad saying, "They have been a credit to themselves, their families and Westend FC.  It has been a pleasure taking them and to end on such a high note is absolutely brilliant."
