Hi,
I am sat trawling the web reliving my "former life"
and, as I lived in Oadby between 1970 and 1973, my local
was the Black Dog ... it was great to see your website,
which is very good by the way.
I became a sports writer
in later life and it was all because of the Black Dog,
because it was in there in 1971 that I run my first
ever pub sports quiz, and even now, after all these
years, when people ask my how I got into writing, I
still recall that it all really started in the Black
Dog.
I used to live in Victoria
Court on London Road and had a pub outside my front
door, but I chose the Black Dog as my local because
I was a Bank's fan. I now live in Mallorca, and have
done since 1991, and to this day have never had a better
pint than Banks.
Thanks for reliving some
memories of three very enjoyable years in Leicester.
