old friends - but where are they now?

PONTYPRIDD
A team with a very short history.
Joined the Southern League Division Two in 1911-12 where they remained until
the 1919-20 season (deducting the War years of course). Reshaping of the Southern League
saw Pontypridd, like Barry, move to the Southern League Welsh Section where they disappear after the poor 1925-26 season, finishing 2nd from bottom. As far as the Welsh Cup goes, Pontypridd had a proud, but brief, record. They were Welsh Cup runners-up to
Cardiff City in 1911-12 (losing the Replay 3-0 at Aberdare), Swansea Town in 1912-13 (this time losing the Replay 1-0 at Tonypandy), and Wrexham in 1920-21 (AGAIN losing the replay, this time 3-1 at Shrewsbury).
