old friends - but where are they now?

Since Barry (the direct descendant of today's club) formed in time for the 1913-14 season we've played a myriad of different teams down the decades, and many we just seemed to meet year in year out in cup ties and league matches. How have these teams faired in the years we've been apart?

Some kept playing to their normal standards, some progressed up through the English system, some regressed through the English system, some came back to Wales, some have disappeared.

This section looks at some of the teams we faced either in the old Southern League days or the Welsh leagues of the 80s and onwards.

It's sometimes nice to put your own team's fortunes in the context of your peers or contemporaries; you may have got better, you may have got worse, you may get a warm smug feeling, or be filled with a bitter jealousy of how others have progressed onwards and upwards...
