Centenary Pictures

Brooklands Museum, April 2001.

His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh was the guest of honour at our Centenary Dinner to celebrate 100 years of history which was held at the Brooklands Museum. The Duke of Edinburgh enjoyed a tour of the Brooklands Museum and its vintage cars before the Centenary Dinner where he met and spoke to everyone.

After Dinner, the Duke of Edinburgh preside at the presentation of trophies and cups, with a few words for each of the winners. A special presentation was made by John Hoare, Lieutenant – Colonel (ret), representing the National Small bore Rifle Association, who paid tribute to club member Jim Quick. Jim’s constant enthusiasm and dedication to the club was marked by a special medal, to signify his unique achievement in being secretary for 25 years, a whole quarter of the gun club’s history.   The final presentation of the evening was to the guest of honour, a large crystal goblet from all at Weybridge Club.
