1974. 2000 Mk2 AUTO SALOON. VRO 792 M.
This car arrived all because my wife had a 'modern' car that kept breaking down and my 'old' Triumph didn't. Bought in Feb. 1996 for £400 mileage 89,000 auto in mallard green. A one owner car with all the service records, M.O.T's, bills and receipts even the deposit and bill of sale. It had been welded in the sill area and outriggers apart from that it is very sound. The interior is A1. I have changed the big & main bearings “just in case” and fitted a Stainless Steel exhaust system. All seems well and the wife is very happy.

JAN 2007 UPDATE.

After 11 years of trouble free driving covering 55,000 miles this one is now off the road for a bit of tidying. I am going to replace some worn interior and do a bit of body work, then a respray. Wife now driving DJJ, details below.

1969. 2000 Mk2 MANUAL / OD SALOON. VKE 993 H.
This one was bought in Sept., 1998 for £300 mileage 132,684 manual overdrive in Valencia blue. I came by this one through a friend I had only known for six months, he insisted that I bought it from him, he set the price that I could not refuse. It is in perfect condition with only wear on the original paint work through many years of polishing. Although he had only owned the car for about a year, he had put in a rebuilt engine with SU HS6 carbs, and a sports Stainless Steel exhaust, it runs very well on it. I fitted a tow bar and have been towing our caravan with it. (goes like a rocket)

JULY 2004 UPDATE

I have just fitted the used power steering system from a scrapped car which makes it much easier and lighter to drive.

AUG 2009 UPDATE

I have been driving it continuously for 10 years without doing much to it, but now it is off the road for some cosmetic and mechanical jobs that have needed doing for a while and before the MOT, worn diff, leaky window seals, power steering leak, sluggish starter motor to name a few.

1972. 2000 Mk2 MANUAL / OD ESTATE. LEU 44 K
Bought in Sept., 2000 for £35. mileage unsure, speedo damaged, manual overdrive. I found this one in a field when on holiday, being an estate which are now not so common, I just had to buy it. The car was totally undriveable so I brought the car home on a trailer, it is now in the M. I. L's garage where I will spend many happy hours getting it back in running condition.

FEB 2002 UPDATE
She is on the road and going very well, even pulled the caravan on our holiday, plenty of power from the original engine. Still a few things to fix, soon to have a full respray.

OCT 2006 UPDATE

Now all finished and resprayed, It looks like it just came out of the showroom

MAY 2009 UPDATE

Still going very well, just passed another MOT first time,

1970. 2000 Mk2 AUTO SALOON DJJ 413 H
The E-Mail advertising this one was sent out on the Triumph 2000 ring on Dec 22nd 2001. Over many years I had seen a lovely 2000 Saloon around my area passing it on many occasions, with the usual wave and flash of lights. Yes, this was the one in the advert, only one mile away. I phoned the day before Christmas eve and drove it home on the next day. There is Plenty of work to do on the body. So when it is all tidy my wife will drive this one as well, and I will add the photos to the 'Cars at shows' page.

JULY 2004 UPDATE

After a long spell waiting for spare panels to turn up I have restarted on restoring the body, It will be resprayed blue. The gearbox was good but the engine was worn out, so I have changed it. The interior is stripped out ready for the complete newer one in light tan.

JAN 2007 UPDATE

Now back on the road and going like a dream, Had a few little bits to sort out once it was being used, but now it's all done.

1973. 2000 Mk2 MANUAL / OD SALOON VCH 529 M

Well ! ! ! . . if my old red one had not been smashed I would not have bought this new red one, all right ! ! ! . . . But this one is the beauty everyone hopes they might find, only 26,400 miles from new, kept in a garage all it's life. This car was subject of an article in "Six Appeal" ( the Triumph 2000 owners club magazine ) After I had read the story of the car I phoned the owners son, we had a long talk about the car and it's history and I bought it there and then over the phone. As the brakes were not working we towed it home, soon repaired with new seals. I only have a few small items to do before it's ready for the road, then this will be used as a 'special days out car' and to all the car shows we attend.

JULY 2005 UPDATE

Early June, M.O.T. Road Tax and insured it went out on the road for the first time since bought. It goes like a brand new car. Mid June I took it to the Triumph National at Hurley and entered it in the concours competition. It won second prize in the 'Best mk2' Group.

1972. 2000 Mk2 MANUAL / OD ESTATE FJN 392 L

August 2006 a friend told me this one was on E-Bay, so I watched it for a week and was the winning bidder. It is a very nice Estate in Saffron with black interior and a glass sunshine roof. I drove it the 135 miles home, not a problem at all. I have a few bits and pieces to tidy inside and out but nothing too serious. This has a tow bar already fitted so I can use it to tow the caravan as well.

MARCH 2009 UPDATE

I have spent the winter months repairing the tin worm on the wheel arches, also replaced the outer sills, I've sprayed over the new metal and it looks fine. I have replaced the carpets and front seats with some in better condition.

1973 2.5 Pi Mk2 MANUAL / OD ESTATE WVE 926 L

I bought this one on E-bay in March 2008 being an Estate, I just had to buy it. This one was built on 28th Dec, 1972 which makes it road tax free by 3 days. I did a small amount of work to the brakes then it passed the MOT without any problem. It has a full length sunshine roof which is great on the odd hot day. I have replaced a bit of the worn out interior and some eaten by mice, it had been stored in a barn. This one came with a tow bar fitted, so it has pulled our caravan on hol's, and it goes very well.

1971 2000 Mk2 MANUAL / OD SALOON KPX 158 J

I bought this saloon on Ebay in Oct 2009. It is the first White and J Reg, car I have. It will need a little work to pass the MOT which is just right for a winter project. When first built it was Auto, after I have finished the restoration I will run it for a while but eventually fit an Auto box because I do like Autos for town driving
