Richie's F1 Predictor Game
--------------------------
-- Season 2012 Rules --
1. Prior to each race weekend of the Formula One season,
players should submit their predictions for several
key results of the meeting:
A) Driver starting from Pole Position.
B) Driver classified in first place.
C) Driver classified in second place.
D) Driver classified in third place.
E) Driver classified in fourth place.
F) Driver classified in fifth place.
G) Driver classified in sixth place.
H) Driver classified in seventh place.
I) Driver classified in eighth place.
J) Driver classified in ninth place.
K) Driver classified in tenth place.
L) Number of classified race finishers.
2. Predictions can be submitted either by using the appropriate
form on the website or via SMS or e-mail direct to Richie
(if the player has his contact details).
3. Predictions must be submitted prior to the start of first practice
on the Thursday or Friday (practice days can vary by venue)
before the race. The website will always provide players with
an accurate countdown to the deadline for submission of
predictions.
4. If a player makes no predictions for a given race, their
predictions for the previous race will be used. If a player
fails to submit predictions for three or more consecutive
races, they will not have any predictions entered at all,
and will therefore not score any points.
5. Players should also make a prediction for the top 3 positions in
the final drivers' championship table. These predictions need
to be submitted before the fourth race of the season.
6. Points are awarded after each race. Correct predictions for each
of the final, classified FIA results identified in Rule 1 above
will score the following number of points.
A) Pole Position 1 point
B) 1st in race 25 points
C) 2nd in race 18
D) 3rd in race 15
E) 4th in race 12
F) 5th in race 10
G) 6th in race 8
H) 7th in race 6
I) 8th in race 4
J) 9th in race 2
K) 10th in race 1 point
L) Finishers 2 points
7. After the season's final race, bonus points will be awarded
to players with correct predictions for the final standings
in the drivers' championship table (see Rule 5).
These points will be:
A) Winner 50 points
B) Runner-up 30
C) 3rd 10
8. The winner shall be the player who has scored the most points
after all races and championship predictions have been assessed.
In the case of a draw, all players tied for most points will
share the title.
Rule 9 is optional but is active by default.
9. A prize shall be given to the player who has achieved the most
points at the end of the season. The prize is a cash 'pot'
(held by Richie) into which each player contributes £10.
Any player may ask for exemption from this rule and thereby
avoid having to pay into the 'pot'. This also makes them
ineligible to win the prize money.
Players who opt out of this rule mid-season (and so return
to 'FreePlay' status) are not entitled to receive a refund
of the amount they contributed to the 'pot'. However, Richie
may return such contribution (and reduce the prize money
accordingly) if, for any reason, he is so inclined.
A FreePlay player cannot opt back into this rule after the
fourth race of the season.
