Welcome to the DLCGA Web site.
The newly elected Executive Committee would like to wish all of our members a happy and successful golfing year in 2010.
Throughout the year this site will be updated to give an insight into Derbyshire Ladies County Golf. It will contain comprehensive information on County competitions, Team performances, individual achievements and Committees and their roles.
We would also like to introduce you to the DERBYSHIRE GOLF web site, home of the Derbyshire Golf Partnership, an organisation comprising of the DLCGA, DUGC and Derbyshire PGA. The partnership has submitted a development plan to Golf England which has attracted considerable funding over the next four year period to implement projects, programmes and initiatives to promote and develop the game of golf in Derbyshire.
The main aims of Derbyshire Golf are to Introduce more people to the game of golf, increase the number of women and girls playing golf, help retain existing participants in the game and improve our performances as a county. The work of the partnership commenced in October 2009 and we have as at January 2010 started to role out several significant projects including the new Derbyshire Golf Academy which has attracted over £50 000 of support from Sport England to identify and train young talent aged 9-15 with the aim of progressing on to represent Derbyshire. We have had well over 100 applicants for this programme of which 14 plus are young girls.
