Afternoon Tea

We continue to meet on a Monday afternoon in the small hall for tea, cakes and a chat. It’s a thriving, lively, friendly group of about 30 – 35 people, of differing age groups, diverse interests and stimulating conversation.

We meet from 2pm to 4pm every Monday and lifts are available from a willing army of volunteers, you only have to ring 495322 to have it arranged.

If you can offer to help with lifts to and from afternoon tea or would like to be involved in any way, please get in touch with Ann or see the December/ January magazine for more details'

5th Sunday Services

From now on, whenever there is a 5th Sunday of the month our 10am service will join with St John’s and St Paul’s. The venue for these services will move around the team.

Ministry to families and young people at St Mary's

First Sunday Services

At a PCC meeting in July it was agreed that the 10am service on the first Sunday of the month should normally be Eucharistic. While the PCC wanted to affirm our works with children and families it was unanimously agreed that the service as it stood was not reaching the target group at which it was aimed. There are discussions taking place to find alternative ways of offering worship and ministry to this important group within the community and church but from now on please expect the first Sunday of each month to be Eucharistic.

2nd Sunday in the month

Vestry club

(quiet activities in the vestry for 4-10yr olds during the first part of the Eucharist service)

3rd Sunday in the month

Children's activity workshop

9.45-11.30 in the Parish Centre aimed at 4-10 year olds (parents - why not come to Church!)

4th & 5th Sundays in the month

Vestry club.

CUBES are worship aids for the small children in our congregation. They are like Rubik Cubes but with pictures of the Eucharist Prayer on them. If you want one for your child just ask as you come into church and you will be given one. If children take these up you will hear lots of clicking during the service as the turn the sides over.

Don’t complain about the noise – instead Thank God that it is helping one of our little ones to worship!

 *

CHILDREN

are welcome in St Mary’s. There are some play things for the under 5s in the children's area by the entrance. However, as there are many dangerous items around the Church, it is safer if you do not let children wander alone around the building.
