In 1992 after getting my SoundLab DLP1's and a decent mixer I got up the confidence to
blag my way into a party and onto the decks. I was only supposed to play for 15 mins
but was allowed to stay on for an hour and invited to warm up at their next party Eastpoint
where SY was the headline DJ.
I moved away to college and started putting together parties for the student union.
I also produced and DJ'd on the college's weekly dance music radio show.
I then wanted to move onto bigger things and got involved with a local pirate radio station
'Peak FM' run by Phase Promotions. I got to play everything from house to hardcore
and all in-between. Like all good pirates we got busted and moved on to promoting
our Old Skool/House parties Voyage. As well as our under 18's dance parties Cloud*9
where we had names such as DJs SY and Unknown entertaining the punters.
My radio career has continued doing guest slots on Energy FM another local pirate
and with my own weekly show on Breakpirates.com
