There is only one type of fish that you should get for an average sized wildlife

pond. This is a stickleback these fish are native to Britain and unlike most fish will

not devour most of the pond life. This fish although not given a reputation as the

most interesting of fish is actually very interesting in it’s behaviour and

appearance. Firstly this fish has spikes which it uses as protection from other

Fish and pond life when they attack and these prove

very effective and not many fish will eat them (although

great diving beetles will). Secondly this fish has a strange custom of building

nests which the fish will put their fertilised eggs in and guard them. During the

mating season the Males tums change colour to red
