A pre-formed liner is quite easy to install but is more expensive and the size is

generally  limited usually to a depth of about 2 foot. The advantage is the

easiness of the installation as you do not have to work out the amount of liner

needed (and if your not mathematical you can certainly get mixed up). Also you

do not have to worry about the liner tearing and many pre-formed liners have

lifetime guarantee Installing a pre-formed liner is easy if you know how to do it the

trick is to make a hole that is at least 1 foot bigger than the out line of the pond

and the whole must be the maximum depth of the pond all the way through. Then

once you have put the pond in you should back fill the hole. You should put few

heavy rocks in the pond to stop it from moving when you back fill it. Back fill it

until the preformed pond is secure in the ground. You should make sure the pond

water is level but if it isn't you can make the area where the water floods out a bog

area where a wide variety of plants can grow. The earth should not get

waterlogged but should be wet all the time
